Aanya Niaz is an Education Advisor and a Senior Management Consultant currently based between London and Lahore. She has 13+ years of experience as a practitioner and researcher in the education sector. Most notably, Aanya led the development of Pakistan’s first English as a Foreign Language Curriculum for the world’s largest low-cost private school network, The Citizens Foundation; advised governments on their national evaluation and assessment policies with the OECD in France; and taught middle & high school students as well as professionally developed teachers in the US with Teach For America, in South Africa with Raise The Children International and in Pakistan with various organisations.

Aanya’s work has primarily focused on curriculum design, research & policy advice, and teacher agency & leadership development. In 2018, she also began her career as a senior management consultant, putting her in a unique position of being able to offer both deep education-sector knowledge as well as a comprehensive project leadership and management toolkit.  Her focus remains on using innovative methods & experimentation to raise the bar for what's possible for the most marginalised learners in the Global South.


Aanya currently serves on the Board of Directors at the Diyalo Foundation and is an Advisor to several non-profits and EdTech firms globally (see Partners & Projects for more info).  

She received her Master's in Comparative and International Education from the University of Oxford in 2017. Aanya ​was awarded a full scholarship to attend the University of Virginia, where she completed her Bachelor's degree with a double major in Foreign Affairs and Global Development Studies in 2011.
